Back Yard Treasures!

We have been enjoying the
simple pleasures
in our own back yard...

Watching birds, climbing trees, planting a garden, picking dandy-lions, swinging and jumping, playing soccer...

Hope you are enjoying the beauty of each new day!

  1. WOW! Was that in your tree? How amazing, what a great picture, what a great thing to learn about! We had a robin build her nest in our sunroom/bugroom a few years ago. It was so fun to watch her come in and out with worms in her mouth after they hatched. Then, one day we were eating lunch and suddenly they started flying out of the nest/cardboard box. Amazing!

  2. Those are such beautiful eggs! What a miracle spring is . . . and all of the significance it has to renewal of life and newness of everything around us! I love spring more every year. Maybe it's that way because winter gets to be so long some years. Whatever the reason, I do love spring and the beauty of it all. Thanks for sharing such an amazing photo. Your brother has a quote that reminds me of all of this: "If you don't see sa miracle everyday, you're simply not paying attention." Here's to paying attention!

  5. 2 of the eggs hatched on Saturday (May 23)! They were so cool! They were like little blobs of peachyness with a few tuffts of hair like stuff on themsnuuggling with eachother next to the other eggs. Then,Monday morning on memorial day,Janelle climbed up in the tree. The 2 eggs and birdies were Gone! There was only a little fly buzzing around in the sad looking nest. were they a stray cat's breakfast? Did they fall out? We don't know.It was verry sad:(We made the birdies a memorial. It said; In memory of Eggna, Eggner, Simon, and Lorrtta.( we named them) Then we drew pictures of them, set it by the tree, through pretty weeds and lilacs on it, and played Dodgeball!:)
